West Allotment Celtic F.C. is a football club based in Longbenton, Tyneside England.
They joined the Northern Alliance in 1983 and won the title 8 times before joining the Northern League in 2004. The club then won the Northern League Second Division at the first attempt, gaining promotion to Division One, where they remain to this day. They are currently managed by Gary Middleton and assistant coach Neil Winskill, who have both played semi-professional football before taking up a managerial position. Middleton and Winskill are into their third season at West Allotment, their First Managerial job. Currently Captaining the side is Stephen Locker, a former team mate of Middleton and also a former FA VAse Winner.
West Allotment have reached the 4th round (the last 32 stage) of the FA Vase twice in their history, in successive seasons 2003-04 and 2004-05. They entered the FA Cup for the first time in 2005-06, but lost their extra-preliminary round match.
Local team Gateshead FC have been linked with a £5,000 pound move for one of Celtic's players. The player involved is 19 year old striker who has scored 11 goals in 48 appearances in over to 2 years at Celtic. The striker has also been linked to Gateshead's bitter rivals Blyth Spartans. However the Spartans could not agree a fee with Celtic. The only other competiton Gateshead have for his signature is Whitley Bay. However Bay, don't whether they have the funds for deal. The striker is believed to be 19 year old Frenchman Joanne Card. He's quick, athletic and has an eye for goal. Card maybe a replacemnt for Richard Brodie, Heed look to have missed out on their number 1 target, after York rejected a £10,000 pound package.
