This is about the "pillar of Islam", for the historical view, see Imamah (Shi'a Ismaili doctrine)

"love and devotion for God, the Prophets, the Imam and the dai."

[edit] Overview

Shi'a Ismaili Seven Pillars of Islam have three doctrines that are not included in the Sunni Five Pillars of Islam: Walayah, Taharah and Jihad. This would raise the total to eight.

Out of this three unique doctrines, Taharah was again changed back to Shahadah by the Druze, when they became an Ismaili offshoot.
