UTA Arad is a football club based in Arad, Romania, founded in 1946. During its history the club won the Romanian championship six times - only Steaua Bucharest, Dinamo Bucharest and Venus Bucharest winning more titles - and the Romanian Cup twice.
UTA's finest hour came in September 1970 when they eliminated the defending champions Feyenoord from the European Cup.
The most famous player ever to play for UTA is Helmuth Duckadam, the goalkeeper who saved four penalties in the 1986 European Cup final, helping his team, Steaua Bucharest to win the trophy. Gyula Lóránt and Iosif Petschovsky also played for UTA in the past.
UTA also have a large group of supporters named Spetzza Ultra Rossa, Directivo Ultra, RASA and Commando Hooligans. Their main rivalry is with the supporters of FC Timisoara.
