[edit] Inner-city suburbs

In some nations there are areas referred to as "inner-city suburbs" this is taken as valid as some "suburbs" are in the middle of the CBD in certain cities, this definition however does not conform to the articles interpretation of what a suburb and what an inner city area is giving them separate meanings where in a lot of circumstances they are synonymous... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 203.164.55.127 (talk) 17:51, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ambiguous

Its still not clear to me what constitutes "inner city". Would a place like Jamaica, Queens or Flushing, Queens constitute inner cit? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.160.255.114 (talk) 15:10, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

Or Hempstead, New York. The answer depends on whether the use is poetical/sociological or literal/geographical. I was surprized when adding a picture to Far Rockaway, Queens that it was described as both "inner city" and "marginal", the former being poetically accurate and the latter literally. Perhaps we need to delineate the duality of the designation a bit more. Jim.henderson (talk) 18:08, 4 July 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Cities are evil

Seems to me, having half the article devoted to this topic is unbalanced. This doesn't mean anti-urbanism is a negligible doctrine or sentiment, but it doesn't belong in an article that's about the distinctions among the various zones of the concentric ring model and other questions of human land use patterns. So, even though it's a small article, better to split off the anti-urban portion to another article. And why mostly American? After all, whatever wonderful things the United States may have invented, anti-urbanism is definitely centuries older. See for example Japanese anti-urbanism, which of course is not a recent invention either, given the old national class structure. Such matters would further unbalance the present article, which is another argument for a split. Jim.henderson (talk) 21:19, 22 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] This term needs disambiguation

Hello, I didn't find the link to 'Inner City (band)' in this page. Can somebody help me to fix it? Thanks! Demián Mega. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 136.1.1.101 (talk) 19:34, 9 March 2009 (UTC)
