Salmon pink

The color salmon pink comes in two shades, light salmon pink and salmon pink.

The color light salmon pink is displayed at the right. Light salmon pink is a light pink color that resembles the color salmon. The name is derived from the flesh color of the pink salmon. The nutrient that imparts the pink flesh color is astaxanthin, that salmon ingest when they feed on other marine organisms, such as krill and small shrimp.

The color salmon pink is displayed at the right. This is the color called salmon in Crayola crayons. This color was introduced by Crayola in 1949. See the List of Crayola crayon colors. The color is also one of the official colors of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
