Jump to: navigation, search

In astrodynamics, an orbiting body (m_1\,) is a body that orbits central body (m_2\,). Under standard assumptions in astrodynamics:

  • it is less massive than the central body by several orders of magnitude (i.e. m_1<<m_2\,).
  • the central body around which it orbits comprises one of the orbits elliptical foci.
