Mark Alan Roberts (born 16 October 1983 in Northwich) is an English professional footballer who plays for Stevenage Borough.
After struggling to establish himself at Crewe Alexandra, Roberts spent time on loan with several clubs. These included Chester City in February 2006, but he returned to Crewe after playing only in Chester's 5–0 thrashing by Carlisle United. He joined Accrington Stanley in the summer of 2007, allowing him to return to the Football League after a spell with hometown club Northwich Victoria. November 2008 saw Roberts make a loan move from Northwich Victoria to Conference National side Stevenage Borough.[1] The deal was made permanent on 1 January 2009.[2]
Roberts impressed massively for Stevenage during the 08-09 season and was awarded Supporters Player of the Year at the end of the season despite only joining the club in late November.[3] On 21 May 2009, it was announced that Roberts will be team captain for the upcoming 09-10 season.[4]
