The Legislature of Liberia is bicameral, consisting of a Senate (upper house) and House of Representatives (lower house), in the same manner as the Congress of the United States.

In October 2003, a unicameral National Transitional Legislative Assembly (NTLA) was installed in place of the Legislature. Legislative elections were held in October 2005 and the elected members took office in January 2006. Sessions are held at the Capitol Building in Monrovia.
