Hyde Football Club are a now-defunct football club from Hyde, Cheshire, founded in 1885. The club's most notorious achievement came on 15 October 1887, when they played Preston North End in the 1887-88 FA Cup First Round; Hyde lost 26-0. To this day, this remains a record in English football for the heaviest defeat in an FA Cup tie.

In 1889 Hyde became founder members of the Lancashire League. However they left the league at the end of 1889-90 and went on to become founder members of The Combination. Again, they only stayed in that league for a single season before leaving. They later joined the Second Division of the Lancashire Combination at the start of 1906-07.

They were the predecessors of Conference North club Hyde United, having played at Ewen Fields from 1906 when they merged with Hyde St George's. Hyde FC folded in 1917, because of what was called war reaction, but a new town club was formed in 1919 and reinstated Ewen Fields, which had been turned into an allotment . It is said that the new club was called Hyde United, rather than retaining the pre-war name, because Hyde FC had considerable debts which the new club would have inherited.
