Hesse's Rule

Jump to: navigation, search

Also known as Heart-Weight Rule.

This predicate holds true that the ratio of body weight increases in animal species found in colder climates compared with those found in warmer climates. This tendency is attributed to the need to maintain a greater temperature differential between the body and the environment and colder regions, and the lesser emphasis on such in warmer areas.
