The municipality of Bloemendaal consists of the following cities, towns, villages and/or districts: Bennebroek, Bloemendaal, Aerdenhout, Bloemendaal aan Zee, Overveen, and Vogelenzang.

Bloemendaal has a railway station - Bloemendaal railway station. There are two other stations in the municipality of Bloemendaal - Overveen and Heemstede-Aerdenhout.

Bloemendaal is the home town of one of the country's most famous field hockey clubs, HC Bloemendaal. The first men's team is competing for the Dutch title nearly every year.
