Anglican Diocese of Christchurch

The Diocese of Christchurch is one of seven dioceses of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia. The Diocese covers the area between the Conway River and the Waitaki River in the South Island of New Zealand.
The diocese was established in 1856. The seat of the Bishop of Christchurch is at Christ Church (the cathedral), in Christchurch (the city named after the cathedral).

The incumbent Bishop of Christchurch is the Rt Rev'd Victoria Matthews, who was installed on 30 August 2008. She was previously Bishop of Edmonton, Alberta and Bishop-in-residence of at Wycliffe College in Toronto, Ontario.
